The farming system in Ragnarok Origin has a significant impact on character development, including leveling up, acquiring equipment and cards, and crafting various items. There are four main farming systems that are crucial for character development in Ragnarok Origin:
In Ragnarok Origin, it is not necessary to farm monsters 24/7 since the game provides a total of 150 minutes of farming time per day (2 hours and 30 minutes). During the Normal Benefit Duration, which is a designated time period, characters can earn Base EXP, Job EXP, and various items from killing monsters.
However, Normal Benefit Duration will be consumed if the character either attacks or gets attacked by monsters.
P.S. When a character attacks Elite/Mini Boss/MVP Boss monsters, Normal Benefit Duration will not be consumed.
As mentioned above, the farming time provided by the game each day is a total of 150 minutes. When we farm monsters until Normal Benefit Duration is over, the icon will change from green (Rested) to red (Fatigue). When Normal Benefit Duration is over and we continue to farm monsters, we will not receive any more Base/Job EXP, and we will not receive items from monsters anymore.
For newcomers who may not know which monsters to farm, there is a Recommended Hunts button in the Normal Benefit Duration section that suggests which monsters to farm. If we want to level up quickly, we should farm monsters that are not too far from our own levels to get full EXP from them.
To get 100% EXP from monsters, you should farm monsters that are 0-5 levels lower than your character's level. However, if you're playing a DPS Job, you may be able to farm monsters that are at a higher level and get up to 110% EXP. But be careful not to farm monsters that are more than 16 levels (including 16) higher than your character's level, as the system will deduct EXP and item drop rates from the monsters instead.
Tip: You should finish your Normal Benefit Duration before going after MVP bosses. If you go after MVP bosses while there is still Normal Benefit Duration left, your character may accidentally hit regular monsters on the map, causing Normal Benefit Duration to decrease.
In addition to farming, players who have limited time can use items to increase their Normal Benefit Duration. One such item is the Speedy Candy, which, when used, consumes Normal Benefit Duration by 2 times. This means that a player only needs 75 minutes of actual farming time per day. They can consume all 150-minute Normal Benefit Duration and gain benefits for 150-minute battle time with mere 75 minutes. The Speedy Candy can be purchased from the RO Shop at a price of 20 Diamonds.
Players can also combine 3 blue Speedy Candies to create a purple one, which consumes Normal Benefit Duration by 3 times. This means that a player only needs 50 minutes of actual farming time per day. Additionally, players can combine 3 purple Speedy Candies to create a gold one, which consumes Normal Benefit Duration by 6 times. This means that a player only needs 25 minutes of actual farming time per day.
This is a system that allows players to obtain items from monsters without receiving any EXP. The MAB system will be unlocked when a character reaches Base Lv.40 and can be turned on or off as desired. When MAB is activated, players will receive items dropped by monsters of all types, including regular items, equipment, and cards.
Tips: Before you reach Base Lv.40, your Activity Points can NOT gain you Monster Annihilation duration.
To activate the MAB system, players must accumulate 100 Activity Points by participating in daily events in the Event menu, which can be done once per day for a maximum of 30 minutes per day. Once the Activity Points are accumulated, players can open the box to receive 30 minutes of MAB time, which can be accumulated for use on subsequent days, up to a maximum of 210 minutes.
In addition, while using MAB, we can increase the drop rate of items by using Lucky Candy items, which come in 2 levels:
Lucky Candy (blue background) has a 100% chance of doubling the drop rate of items for 30 minutes.
Super Lucky Candy (purple background) has a 50% chance of doubling the drop rate of items and a 50% chance of tripling the drop rate of items for 30 minutes.
Lucky Candy items with blue backgrounds can be purchased at the [RO Shop] - [Diamond Shop] for 30 Diamonds per piece, up to 7 pieces per week.
This is a system that guarantees a drop of monster cards.
You can check it in the Guide> Monster Archive menu.
As we continuously defeat a large number of monsters, the Card Drop Progress bar will fill. When the bar is 100% filled, we will immediately receive a guaranteed drop of the monster card.
However, the Card Drop Progress bar will only fill when we have Normal Benefit Duration or Monster Annihilation Blessing. Farming monsters without these time-limited boosts will not fill the Card Drop Progress bar in any way.
Each monster and card level affects the Card Drop Progress differently. For example, a Poring (green card) can fill the Card Drop Progress bar more than that of a Mummy (blue card).
Many people may be familiar with the term "Stamina" from previous versions of RO, but in Ragnarok Origin, Stamina is used exclusively for cooking and potion-making and is not related to monster farming in any way. The amount of Stamina available is related to the Life Skill system, which is unlocked when a character reaches Base Lv. 40.
The Life Skill system is used to gather materials for cooking and potion-making from NPCs. There are two types of Life skill:
Foraging is the life skill of gathering ingredients, specifically plants. In one day, it is possible to forage for 10 minutes in total, and an Auto Gathering Scroll item can be used to assist with automatic collection. This item can be purchased at [RO Shop] - [Diamond Shop] for 5 Diamonds.
Fishing is the life skill of catching fish and shellfish. In one day, it is possible to fish for a total of 20 minutes, and an Auto-Fishing Book can be used to assist with automatic fishing. This item can also be purchased at [RO Shop] - [Diamond Shop] for 5 Diamonds.
After gathering ingredients from foraging and fishing, the next step is to obtain Stamina points. This can be achieved by completing Daily Commissions, and the amount of Stamina points received will depend on the number of Daily Commission Tickets used.
For example, completing the Anthem Trial quest using 20 Tickets will result in receiving 360 Stamina points, while completing the Hazy Forest quest using 40 Tickets will result in receiving 720 Stamina points.
When we have both ingredients and Stamina ready, we can go and cook or craft medicines at the bottom left of Prontera city, in the Eden Group area.
Once inside, walk to the right to find the cooking station, or head to the upper right area for the crafting station.
In cooking and crafting potions, there is a success rate percentage that can be increased by leveling up.
This can be achieved by using Eden Coins to upgrade skills.
The higher the skill level, the more Eden Coins are required. Therefore, it is important to spend Eden Coin wisely, both for character and cooking skill upgrades.
