In Ragnarok Origin, the Paladin is a Class 2-2 of the Swordman class. It is generally known for its high durability and the ability to provide strong damage output to allies. It excels in PvP content as its primary focus. The main role of the Paladin class is to serve as a Tank (Full Support) or a Semi-DPS. This class's gameplay can be divided into five sub-roles. Let's explore and understand the different sub-roles within this profession together.
Support: This branch excels at providing damage reduction and support to teammates. Its damage output is not remarkable and it has average AoE skills. However, it plays a crucial role in boss hunting and can be compared to a "Child of Earth" in parties.
Shield Boomerang: This branch displays versatility in both PvE and PvP. It has relatively high HP due to the use of shields and deals decent damage. Leveling up is not too challenging, especially when in a party. It can perform well in boss hunting by using a Full Tank preset for simpler content.
Grand Cross: This branch relies on items and has interesting AoE skills. It can deal good damage but requires a significant investment in items and consumes a different set of resources compared to other branches. However, it is relatively easy to level up and offers diverse gameplay options.
Sacrifice: This branch requires high-tier items and resources, including Physical Attack (PATK), Critical (Crit), Max HP, and Attack Speed (ASPD). It relies on powerful attacks and a bulky character. Absent these requirements, gameplay becomes exceedingly difficult. Nonetheless, it shines in PvP modes and boss hunting.
Concentrate Pierce: Similar to Sacrifice, this branch also requires high-tier items and resources, with a specific focus on Critical. Leveling up is challenging due to single-target attacks, but it is not as difficult as Sacrifice since it does not consume HP. It performs well in PvP modes and boss hunting.
Here are some basic recommended cards that can be customized according to your preference:
For those playing a Spear/2H Sword build, the best choice for transitioning to the Concentrate Pierce and Grand Cross (DPS) builds is to stick with your current weapons. You can continue using them without the need to acquire new ones. If you decide to switch to a different build, you will need to invest in additional weapon upgrades. For players using a 1H Sword build, you have the flexibility to transition to any other build since you already have your weapon upgrades.Regarding cards, Mantis is commonly used from the start and doesn't require a new build. Alternatively, players can gradually collect Muka cards as they are easy to obtain and suitable for Sacrifice builds. Another option is to wait for the patch that introduces playable towns, as Sweet Cookie cards drop in that map (although they are rare cards, so obtaining them may take some time). The most challenging part is obtaining the Verus Core, as it requires a complete rebuild. However, some skills might still be usable in the meantime, such as:
Mana Length Reversal: Use it for farming in close range (except for Shield Boomerang builds).
Bloodthirst: Use it to deal more damage to full HP monsters, increasing the chance for one-hit kills.
Muscle Block: Helps increase character survivability.
Co-Processor Activation: Use it for farming.
MATK: Useful for builds that rely on MATK, such as Grand Cross.
These are general recommendations for the Crusader - Paladin class, which will be available soon. Given the opportunity, we can provide more in-depth guidance for each build. Hopefully, this information can help those interested in Crusader - Paladin class.
