Assassin(lv70+)
Written by PlayPost Team from ROO Discord Tavern
Thief is a unique and fascinating Job in Ragnarok Origin, known for its intriguing and powerful skills, especially in PvP. It is incredibly difficult to resist the allure of playing as a Thief, which is why many players pick the Job as their first choice when entering ROO. Let me guide you through some playing styles and strategies commonly used among thieves~
1.Overview
The Thief Job in Ragnarok Origin is highly popular for its unique playstyle and versatile skill set, particularly in PvP. This Job offers a distinct and unparalleled experience compared to other Jobes. Although Thief does not stand out in the early stages, once it advances to the Assassin Job, players can choose between two popular builds: Red Cut and Soul Breaker. Another path worth mentioning is the Critical Build, which is more challenging to play but exceptionally stylish. Let's focus on the Red Cut and Soul Breaker builds, as they are relatively easier to execute.
2.Pros and Cons
Pros | Cons |
Thieves in Ragnarok Origin excel in PvP modes and can deal high damage to players in almost every content | During the early stages of the game, leveling up can be challenging for the Thief Job due to their low damage output |
The Thief Job in Ragnarok Origin has a poison skill that can be used to enhance powerful damage. | Thieves in Ragnarok Origin may not excel in PvE content as they are more focused on single-target damage rather than area-of-effect damage. This can result in slower monster group clearing |
| Playing a Thief in Ragnarok Origin can be resource-intensive, especially when it comes to card and equipment upgrades |
| In general PvE gameplay, where partying and overall efficiency are important, investing heavily in card and equipment upgrades as a Thief may not be desirable, and for challenging boss hunts, having a Merchant Job in the party can be highly beneficial |
3.Thief Skill
This is a basic skill build that can help you level up and take on the path to becoming an Assassin. As for stats, prioritize STR and AGI.
Double Attack Lv.10
Trick Control Lv.10
Increase Dodge Lv.10
Envenom Lv.5
Shield Dodge Lv.5
After advancing to Assassin, reset the skills and make some adjustments. Replace Trick Control with Hide/Stealth Lv.9 and Back Slide Lv.1 because Trick Control is no longer necessary for Assassins.Note: We can reset skills and stats for free 3 times. After that, we need to purchase a Skill Reset Stick from the Diamond Shop for 100 Diamonds.
4.Assassin - Venom build:
You will still use dual daggers. However, you will have powerful poison-inflicting skills to enhance your damage. These skills will grant you strong poison effects right from the start. It is recommended to allocate your stat points slightly towards Agi, Str, and Dex. This build is suitable for players who enjoy boss hunting.

7.Assassin Cross
After advancening to Assassin Crosst, you will need to reset your stats to optimize your build for playing Soul Breaker. 8.Weapons
In the early stages, thieves rely on their attack and speed, so the best weapon is Cutter with +67 STR and +1 Agi. When reaching Lv.50, switch to Sandstorm with +120 PATK and +12% ASPD, and increase in power according to the upgrade. At Lv.70~80, choose to use Moonlight Dagger with +169 PATK, +8 Int, and +100 MATK, which increases in power according to the upgrade, or Lunar Dagger with +169 PATK, and +80 MATK, but with a Soul Break damage boost according to Int
For those who wish to use Katar weapons, there are three viable options to consider:
Tyrannical Katar: This weapon excels in increasing critical damage as it enhances the damage bonus from critical hits. It is a suitable choice for players who rely on critical strikes.
Fire Spirit Katar: This weapon is imbued with the fire element, granting additional damage to fire-based skills. It also has a 5% chance to inflict the Silence status on enemies, making it useful against earth-elemental monsters.
Krishna: This weapon is ideal for players who specialize in Sonic Blow or Grimtooth. It enhances the power of Sonic Blow by providing a 10% damage increase and adds a bonus of +3 Dex
