An essential daily activity that should not be missed is hunting MVPs (Most Valuable Players). To check the spawn time of MVPs, click on the Event menu and select MVP. The left side of the screen will show the locations and countdown timer until the MVP spawns (a system announcement is made when there are 5 minutes left before the MVP appears). Additionally, it displays the name of the party that recently acquired the MVP. On the right side, you will find the rewards obtained from hunting MVPs, which are divided into two parts:
Team Rewards: The rewards obtained from hunting MVPs are distributed to the entire party. In each MVP hunt, only one party member is awarded the MVP title, which is given to the member with the highest overall score, ranking first. The recipient of the MVP title receives Team Rewards, which usually consist of Diamonds, Illusion Boss Card exchange vouchers, and an opportunity to acquire headgear blueprints and MVP cards through a random draw.
Personal Rewards: These rewards are given to individual players. By dealing damage to the MVP at least once and staying on the same map where the MVP was attacked, you will receive personal rewards. The rewards will be displayed in the Personal Rewards section. Some items for personal rewards can be obtained through random draws, such as accessory blueprints with 1 or 2 slots, as well as certain consistent items like Elunium and Headwear Crystal.
MVP's Blood %
In Ragnarok Origin, MVPs are designed with significantly high HP to encourage teaming up and cooperative play. It's worth noting that MVPs can spawn in all channels, not just the initial one. This means that if there are multiple channels where players are farming or waiting to engage the MVP, the boss's HP will be calculated based on the cumulative damage inflicted by players across all channels. For example, if Party A in Channel 1 deals 1% damage to the boss and Party B in Channel 2 also deals 1% damage to the boss, the boss's total HP will decrease by 2% across all channels. This system fosters collaborative play and encourages players to work together in hunting MVPs.
MVP scoring system
The MVP scoring system in Ragnarok Origin takes into account several factors, not just dealing the highest damage to secure MVP. In a party, there needs to be a balance in tanking, dealing damage, and healing. The scoring for each component is as follows:
Damage Taken: Maximum of 20 points. The highest-ranking player in terms of damage taken will receive the highest score, and the scores will decrease for subsequent ranks.
Damage Per Second (DPS): Maximum of 40 points. The highest-ranking player in terms of damage dealt per second will receive the highest score, and the scores will decrease for subsequent ranks.
Healing: Maximum of 20 points. The highest-ranking player in terms of healing will receive the highest score, and the scores will decrease for subsequent ranks.
First Strike: 4 points.
Final Blow: 8 points.
Death Penalty: The maximum deduction is 5 points.
Additionally, if a party member has already reached the daily quota for Team Rewards, their score will be deducted based on the number of party members who have received Team Rewards. For example, if one party member has already received the full daily quota and participates in hunting the MVP, the scores will be reduced by 85% for two members, 70% for three members, 50% for four members, and 20% for five members.
Which MVP boss should focus on?
When hunting MVP, it's not necessary to hunt every single one because there is a daily limit of 5 MVPs (during MVP Fever event, it's 7 MVPs). You can focus on hunting MVP that drop cards suitable for your character's job or bosses that drop equipment relevant to your character's build. For example, if your character is a High Wizard, you can focus on hunting Mistress to obtain an Expert Ring with 1 or 2 slots to increase MATK and reduce skill cooldown. If your character is a Lord Knight, you can prioritize hunting Orc Lord to obtain a Ring with 1 or 2 slots to increase P.ATK and STR stat. Normal MVP bosses respawn within 2 hours after being defeated, so if you have time, you can focus on hunting a specific MVP boss to obtain equipment that aligns with your character's job.
How to unlock MVP icons in the mini-map:
Your character can unlock the MVP boss icons in the mini-map by achieving 5,300 Achievement Points, or reaching the Novice V level. Seeing the MVP in the mini-map will make it easier and faster for you to find them, and increase your chances of getting the First Strike. To speed up your Achievement Points, you can collect poring journals in various locations. This will help you level up your Achievement Points quickly.
